How to Use TKTX Aftercare Balm:

1. Cleanse the Area: Gently wash the treated skin with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser and pat dry. (Ensure the area is free of: Make-up, moisturiser, fake tan)
2. Apply a Thin Layer: Use clean hands to apply a small amount of balm to the palm of your hand, then rub it together to thin the balm before applying it to the affected area.
3. Massage Gently: Lightly massage the balm into the skin until fully absorbed.
4. Reapply as Needed: Use 2–3 times daily or as directed by your skin care professional for optimal healing. (Keep in mind it takes 6 months for your tattoo to fully settle into the epidermis layer of the skin, keeping your skin nourished is the best way to keep your tattoo’s bright and best result.)

What NOT to do after your tattoo:

1. Don’t Soak or Submerge Your Tattoo

Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, baths, or long showers for at least 2–3 weeks. Soaking can soften the skin, fade ink, and increase the risk of infection. Stick to quick, lukewarm showers instead.

2. Don’t Pick or Scratch the Scabs

As your tattoo heals, it will peel and form scabs—this is normal! Picking, scratching, or peeling scabs can pull out ink, cause patchy healing, and even lead to scarring. Let the skin shed naturally.

3. Don’t Expose Your Tattoo to Direct Sunlight

UV rays can fade fresh ink and damage healing skin. Avoid sunbathing, tanning beds, or outdoor exposure without protection for at least 4–6 weeks. Once healed, always use high-SPF sunscreen to preserve your tattoo’s vibrancy.

4. Don’t Use Harsh Products or Over-Moisturize

Avoid alcohol-based products, fragranced lotions, or exfoliants—they can irritate and dry out your tattoo. Also, don’t smother it in thick ointments (like petroleum jelly) after the first few days; over-moisturizing can clog pores and suffocate the skin. Use a light, fragrance-free balm (like TKTX Aftercare Balm) as directed.

5. Don’t Wear Tight or Irritating Clothing

Friction from tight clothes, rough fabrics, or shoes (for foot/ankle tattoos) can rub against the tattoo, causing irritation, fading, or even infection. Opt for loose, breathable clothing (like cotton) to let the skin heal properly.
